DeKalb County*, in partnership with the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government launched the 2026 Community Pet Survey in September, 2026. Our DeKalb County Community Pet Survey is using the same questions used in a national study (Glasser, 2021) so that we can better understand different aspects of pet care for our DeKalb County residents.

Our 2026 survey only takes about 5 minutes to complete and it focuses on:

• experiences with spaying/neutering cats and dogs

• awareness of DeKalb County’s two new ordinances to promote animal welfare.

Whether you’re a pet owner or not, your input will help guide future affordable pet care resources and services that keep pets safe, healthy, and in their homes.

There are no right or wrong answers and we value everyone’s opinion!
